After an absence from the Irish Road Racing Calendar of some 66 years, the Enniskillen Road Races returned yesterday at the new three-mile Arney circuit a few miles from Enniskillen town.

 
In sizzling 30 degree temperatures, the hottest ever recorded at an Irish road race, Derek McGee was unbeatable in every class.
 
After qualifying for all five of his races on pole, the aptly named Mullingar Missile continued his domination by winning all five. His tally started by winning the opening supersport race, this was followed by a win in the open race, the Supertwins race the second supersport  and closing the day off with a victory in the Enniskillen 100 feature race.
 
He also qualified on pole in the 125 class but an electrical fault with the Joey's Bar Moto3 bike on the warm up lap meant he had to sit this one out.
 
Tobermore's Adam McLean had a glimmer of hope of in breaking McGee's unbeatable form when he took a short-lived spell at the front in the second Supersport race but finished runner up in all five races.
 
Kevin Fitzpatrick took the final podium place in both the Supersport races and a win in the 125/Moto 3 race.
 
Graham Kennedy took the 3rd step in both the Open and Enniskillen 100 races and Thomas Maxwell was third in the Supertwin race.
 
With such a dominant show there was no doubt who won the man of the meeting.
 
Next road race meeting will be the Skerries 100 next weekend where it has recently been announce that Michael and William Dunlop have entries which could make McGee's life a little more difficult than what he experienced this weekend.
