Glenn Irwin parts company with Tyco BMW after four rounds

Glenn Irwin has today parted company with the Tyco BMW Bennetts British Superbike team.

Irwin landed the seat after he ejected from Quattro Kawasaki and replaced the injured Keith Farmer but even after improving results, he has split with the Moneymore squad.

“TAS Racing would like to thank Glenn Irwin for his input over the past four rounds with the Tyco BMW British Superbike team,” said a team statement.

“The Northern Irish rider posted a best result of fifth place at Oulton Park earlier this month, aboard BMW Motorrad’s all-new S1000RR.

“Following discussion, both parties have mutually agreed to terminate the current agreement with immediate effect. TAS Racing wish Glenn every success with his future plans.”

It is the first time in the team’s 17-year BSB history they have parted company with a rider before the end of the season.
