Harran and Honda hit Stock1000 with Optimum for 2022| BSB Staff | BSB Support
Optimum Bikes Racing steps up to Pirelli National Superstock 1000 Championship for 2022 with Brett Harran and Honda.
Optimum will be hoping to make a big impression in next season’s British Superstock fight as South African Harran moves across from Jones Dorling Racing after his debut year in the class - in which he finished in the points four times, in both races at Knockhill and Silverstone.
Having spent the past few years in the BSB paddock supporting young riders like Harran and Dan Linfoot, Optimum feel it’s the right time to step up to the STK1000 class and put their stamp on it. Linfoot continues his links with the outfit as rider coach, with the team running Honda Power for the 2022 assault in the form of the new CBR1000RR SP.
‘Having the right people will be key to success and making our step to the STK1000 class one to watch,” Team Owner Ian Wright said.
“Being such a competitive class and one of the best championships in the world we are under no illusion it’s going to be tough but we are well up for the challenge. We have Alec Tague as our crew chief (formally of Bathams) and his knowledge and work ethic will not only get the best out of the machine but also out of the rider and team also.
“Dan Linfoot will be in our side of the garage as a mentor and advisory role for Brent, as most of the circuits are still very new to him and knowledge will be key to helping get the very best results. Brent has one year under his belt in the STK1000 class from 2021, learning the tracks, and he showed a lot of promise so we believe that 2022 is the year for him to shine. With a fantastic team around him I am sure we can be fighting at the sharp end.”
