2018 TT launch: 'I'll put slicks on a Superstock if I have to' - Dunlop

Michael Dunlop insists he will race in the Superbike and Senior TT races in 2018 even if he has put slicks on a Superstock bike and use that.

The Ballymoney man split with Steve Hicken’s Hawk Suzuki squad last week after testing in Cartagena and is now looking for a Superbike to race in the two big TT races this year but, in typical Dunlop style, is completely relaxed and in no rush whatsover.

“I’m in the shit at the minute! I had a good relationship with Steve and the boys but it didn’t work out, it’s one of those things,” said Dunlop, speaking at the TT launch in Douglas.

“I need a Superbike and I need to get it sorted soon enough but there are a few weeks left and I’m not in any big panic, I can have a go on anything. If I have to turn up on the day with something new then I will.

“I’ve paddled this boat a few times but it is what it is. I will put some slicks on a Stocker and take the door handles off if I have to.”
