Imola WorldSBK: Camier expecting 'challenging, tough' time

Moriwaki Honda's Leon Camier is, unsurprisingly, expecting a hard weekend at the Imola WorldSBK round on a bike that is being used as a development mule for future seasons.

The Fireblade which Camier and team-mate Ryuichi Kiyonari are using this season is nothing like as competitive as it needs to be and it would seem HRC is using this year for research and development rather than actually racing.

Camier, as always, isn't complaining - at least outwardly - but is under no illusions about the upcoming weekend in Italt.

"I love Imola, it’s a really good track and I enjoy riding there. Having said that, I expect it to be tough to be honest," said Camier.

"The layout is very physical and there are a lot of details we need to get right in terms of the bike’s setup. I think it will be a challenging weekend for us, but I’m definitely looking forward to it.

"Hopefully the weather will be warmer than Assen and allow us to take advantage of every session to prepare for the races. We’ll try our best and will see what happens.”
