Irish youngster Caolan Irwin has signed to join the Astro-JJR team for this year’s Pirelli National Superstock 600 series.
Irwin has already take victory in the class and will step into the shoes of Shane Richardson, who moves up to Superstock 1000 with Stuart Tromans’ squad.
“I am delighted to be joining the Astro-JJR team for the 2020 Superstock championship,” said Irwin.
“Last season I saw the team as being the gold standard and they where very unlucky not to win away with the title.
“This really is really a dream come true. I spoke with Stuart before the end of last season and again late December. I flew over to see him and I felt at home straight away.
“It’s a great chance for me to also work with James Jackson. He did a great job last year with Shane in getting the new ZX-6R working so I am grateful to have his experience behind me.
“I’m also really excited to be team mates with Shane. I learned a lot from him last year and we had a good friendship of track. I am excited to work together and bring the team the best results.”
