Jackson confident ahead of BSB return in 2020

Lee Jackson is gearing up for his return to the Bennetts British Superbike Championship grid, admitting that following the recent tests in Spain, he is feeling confident ahead of his forthcoming campaign with the Massingberd-Mundy Kawasaki team.

Jackson, who has previously scored a podium finish in the Bennetts BSB class is eager to come out fighting on his return to the premier class, after finishing third in last year’s Pirelli National Superstock 1000 Championship.

“We completed five days on track at Monteblanco and Jerez and everything felt really positive. It was great to get back out on a Superbike after a three-year break, learn my trade, learn the new Kawasaki Superbike ZX-10R, and it was a positive five days so thanks to the FS3 team and all my mechanics for their hard work,” said Jackson.

“We went to Jerez and learn a new track and quite surprisingly I was pretty fast from the word go. It was a great last two days and I was moving up the timesheets, which is not always what you need in testing but it is good for the confidence.

“To come away from testing feeling really comfortable with the bike and know where we are strong, and also what we need to work on, is a positive. To be only 0.2 or 0.3 off my teammate after five days on track is also good for the whole team and that puts us in a good place for the start of the season.

“I am looking forward to getting back out now and put some of the work we did in Spain into practice here and keep the ball rolling for the season.”
