Jerez BSB test: Mackenzie finds good base setting

McAMS Yamaha's Tarran Mackenzie found a good base setting for the 2020 R1 over his five days of Spanish testing and finished in the top five at Jerez.

The little Scotsman had to endure some problems with the new bike at the start but after some solid work, found a setting that was good at Jerez and at Monteblanco - two very different tracks.

"It's been a busy five days, to start with Monteblanco was a bit tough as we had some teething issues with the new bike - as you'd expect - but we got through that and ended the test with a good feeling," said Mackenzie.

"We came to Jerez, didn't change much on the bike and had a good feeling straight away. That was a really positive step, to go to two completely different tracks and have the set-up not too far away from each other, which is encouraging.

"We tried a range of new parts as well, and we've been able to get some really good feedback. I'm not too far from the top guys which is is important too. I'm looking forward to getting back to the UK now and getting ready for the first race."
