Krummenacher heads to Italian CIV with Keope Yamaha

2019 World Supersport champion Randy Krummenacher will race in the Italian CIV for 2022, alongside his EWC commitments.

The Swiss rider appears to have run out of options to remain in the WorldSBK paddock for a seventh season after a difficult couple of years since his title winning performance.

Taking on the Italian National Championship, Krummenacher will compete with the Keope Motor Team on a Yamaha YZF-R1M in the superbike class, with ex-MotoGP rider and current Yamaha tester Niccolò Canepa alongside when his MotoE schedule allows.

“I very much liked the CIV Superbike project with Yamaha and Keope Motor Team right from the off,” Krummenacher said. “I already knew Team Manager Stefano Morri and can say that I have complete faith in him and Paolo Orsini (Team Director).

“Thanks to the support of Yamaha, I know that I’ll have a strong package and I’ll do my best to exploit that. Racing with a Superbike again, in such a high-level championship, really motivates me and I can’t wait for the first tests. Our expectations are very high for 2022 and I’ll do all I can to meet them. I want to thank everyone who has helped ensure this project takes shape."
