Reigning WorldSSP Champion Randy Krummenacher stood in for Leon Camier at a Misano WorldSBK test, getting his first taste of Panigale V4 power.
The Barni Racing team lined up Michele Pirro and Samuele Cavalieri on the CIV V4R with Krummenacher on the WorldSBK bike to replace Camier, still stuck in Andorra due to travel restrictions caused by Coronavirus emergency.
The focus was not only on the track but also inside the box, where the mechanics had to face a completely renewed working methods: new layout with separator wall between the various areas of the pit, sanitizing stations and the new airfog - a nebulizer capable to purifythe air - personal protective equipments, but above all the need to maintain social distancing.
On the Superbike version Krummenacher tested the new tank layout and some new items on the SC Project exhaust as well as the durability of other components. The Swiss rider completed 60 laps with 1’35.494 as best lap.
"The chance to get back on track after a long stop trying out the Ducati Panigale V4R Superbike was great," said the Swiss.
"It's a shame that the day flew away, I was immediately comfortable on the bike and with the team we were able to complete the work programme. I have to thank Marco Barnabò for giving me this opportunity and Andrea Quadranti from MV Augusta who let me to ride a Superbike."
