Just weeks after walking away from competition due to ongoing concerns over a back injury, Jorge Lorenzo has announced he will wildcard at MotoGP Catalunya.
Lorenzo spend a torrid season with Honda, unable to get the best from the RC213V as he was in fear of aggravating the injury he sustained at Assen.
Honda allowed the Mallorcan out of his contract with good grace and he has now decided that he is able to race after all.
Lorenzo has done three days on the factory Yamaha so far and was around a second off the pace.
“After some weeks thinking about it, yesterday I decided I will compete at the Catalan GP. I’m really looking forward to it and I’ll see you all there," he said.
