Mackenzie planning switch to 2019 BMW S1000RR for Superstock season end

Bathams BMW’s Taylor Mackenzie has all but cemented second place in the Pirelli National Superstock 1000 class for this year and is now preparing to switch to the 2019 S1000RR in an attempt to reel in leader Richard Cooper.

Mackenzie had to play second fiddle to the Buildbase Suzuki man at Cadwell Park but with a load of points still up for grabs, the young Scot is throwing everything at it.

“Second place in the championship is all but secured for me now, and there’s still 100 points on the table, so now it’s all about going all in for winning the championship,” said Mackenzie.

“The bike I’ve been using all season has been brilliant and switching to the new bike could be seen as a risk, but me and the whole team all believe there’s nothing for us to lose by doing it, so between now and the next round we’re going to be doing plenty of testing.”
