Marquez 'hoping' to be fit enough for Sepang MotoGP test

Reigning MotoGP Champion Marc Marquez is hoping to be fit enough to take part in the upcoming Sepang test but his rehab from shoulder surgery is taking longer than he anticipated.

The surgery was less complicated than the operation he underwent in 2018 and the Spaniard had hoped recovery would be faster but is seems the opposite is true.

“I would like my recovery to go better. It's quite difficult, a bit tough," said Marquez, speaking at a Catalan athlete awards ceremony.

"Last year I had surgery on my left shoulder and the rehab was different. It should be easier this time, but it wasn't like that. I hope we can do it for the Sepang test."

Surgeon Xavier Mir believes Marquez will be in good enough shape for Sepang even if he isn't at 100 per cent.
