Injured MotoGP stars Joan Mir, Fabio Quartararo and Andrea Dovizioso are scheduled to take part in the Misano test which kicks off tomorrow.
Mir is back to action after severely bruising a lung in a brake-fail crash at Brno while Dovizioso - who may have to undergo a circuit medical after suffering concussion - and Quartararo were both taken to hospital after the whopping crash at Copse on the first lap of Sunday’s Silverstone race.
Jorge Lorenzo is also slated to attend after his comeback at Silverstone which, by his own admission, left him in a lot of pain. Two days and a lot of laps in the sweltering Italian heat might just prove a bridge too far for the former champion.
Monster Yamaha’s Valentino Rossi and Maverick Vinales will have their second shot at the 2020 M1 and the chance to see if overall grip has been improved as the Misano surface will be slippery in high temperatures.
Pramac Racing’s Jack Miller was unimpressed with the Silverstone race and wants to understand whether his tyre woes were down to settings, or the tyre itself. This is similar to Cal Crutchlow (LCR Honda), who also suffered in the higher temperatures on Sunday at his home GP.
Danilo Petrucci will be working on finding a different setup with his GP19 as he has been nowhere since his famous Mugello win and subsquent contract signing.
In addition, HRC test rider Stefan Bradl and Ducati Team test rider Michele Pirro will be joining the other 22 riders on circuit.
