Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli is set to welcome the opening round of the Women's European Cup this weekend.
The third season of the women’s trophy sees a partnership between EMG Eventi, Federazione Motociclistica Italiana, FIM Europe, AAFIM Europe, Spanish Championship ESBK and Alpe Adria to bring the nine round calendar to fruition.
The Adriatic coast is the first of six venues to host the championship, alongside the start of the Campionato Italiano Velocità (CIV), with new addition Valencia, Vallelunga and Rijeka all welcoming the action before Mugello’s final round in September.
Reigning champion, and double victor, Beatriz Neila Santos, returns to defend the title for the third year in a row with eight countries represented amongst the provisional 21-strong entry list. The eventual winner will claim a wildcard for the CIV300’s final round at the historic Imola "Enzo e Dino Ferrari” circuit.
Sunday’s 10 lap race will see the culmination of two free practice and two qualifying sessions across the weekend, with an additional point awarded for pole position.
