Misano MotoGP test: Lorenzo withdraws 'in a lot of pain'

Repsol Honda’s Jorge Lorenzo is the second rider to withdraw from the Misano MotoGP test as he joins Miguel Oliveira on the sidelines.

Lorenzo completed just over 30 laps on his version of the RC213V but has decided discretion is the better part of valour and intends to focus on the upcoming race weekend.

“Today I felt a lot of pain when on the bike, more than in Silverstone. We finished the race but it meant there was more inflammation and pain after,” said Lorenzo.

“It has been improving but we decided together with the team to conclude the test now to arrive stronger for the race.”

The Spanish former champion set a best lap of 1'35.722, some 2.2s off the pace of lunchtime leader Fabio Quartararo.
