Misano WorldSBK: Krummenacher wins last-lap WorldSSP dust-up

A fabulously competitive WorldSSP race again, this time under a hot sun and on a dry track surface, saw a big freight train of riders in the first quarter reduced to four plus one fighting for podiums, and then only two blue and yellow Yamahas fighting for the win – literally with their elbows - at the end.

Randy Krummenacher (BARDAHL Evan Bros. WorldSSP Yamaha) was the final winner, by just 0.084 seconds from Federico Caricasulo (BARDAHL Evan Bros. WorldSSP Yamaha) as they pushed each other around the final few corners, allowing third place rider Lucas Mahias (Kawasaki Puccetti Racing) to close within 0.161 seconds at the flag, in what was a great grandstand finish.

Jules Cluzel (GMT94 Yamaha) was fourth and Hikari Okubo (Kawasaki Puccetti Racing) recovered from a tough Superpole to finish fifth after 19 breathless laps.

Highly rated CIV rider Lorenzo Gabellini (Gomma Racing Yamaha) was the top local wildcard, in sixth place, with Hannes Soomer (MPM WILSport Racedays Honda) delivering on his fast pre-race pace for the outdated CBR to take seventh.

Kevin Manfredi (Team Rosso e Nero Yamaha) came through strongly for eighth.

Thomas Gradinger (Kallio Racing Yamaha) was the final regular inside the top ten, with former regular and local wildcard Massimo Roccoli (Team Rosso Corsa) tenth.
