Both Eugene Laverty and Leon Camier have been ruled out of this weekend’s Misano WorldSBK round due to ongoing injury.
Laverty is not sufficiently recovered from the two broken wrists he sustained in a free practice crash at Misano while Camier’s crocked shoulder, which happened at the same event, is also still causing him problems.
Camier will be replaced by Yuki Takahashi at Moriwaki Honda while Laverty’s Go Eleven Ducati team have yet to announce a replacement after British Superbike series leader Tommy Bridewell elected not to ride in Italy.
“I’m devastated to miss Misano but it is the only real option. I must wait until I am fit to ride otherwise I risk putting both myself and the other riders in danger,” said Laverty.
“I will travel to Misano to support my Team Go Eleven Ducati squad while also continuing to work on my rehabilitation program over the race weekend. I will be back on track as soon as I am ready.”
