Yamaha's Michael van der Mark will today undergo surgery on the wrist he broke in a whopping highside at the end of Misano WorldSBK free practice two on Friday.
The Dutchman was taken to Rimini Hospital after the crash and had the wrist put in a cast but has had to wait for it to be pinned. He was back at the track yesterday and said the ribs that had initally been diagnosed as broken were just bruised.
"Michael will undergo surgery at Rimini Hospital to plate his fractured right radius, after which a decision will be made in conjunction with his medical team as to when he will be fit to return to action," said a team statement.
