Monteblanco BSB test: Bridewell leads at lunch on last day

Oxford Racing Ducati’s Tommy Bridewell topped the timesheets at lunchtime on the final day of Bennetts British Superbike testing and was one of only two riders to break the 1’37 barrier at the Spanish track.

RAF Reserves Kawasaki rider Ryan Vickers was the first with a 1’36.909 and it looked like he would remain king of the hill but Bridewell’s last lap toppled him by 0.113 with Hector Barbera again at the sharp end on the Rich OMG BMW.

The Spanish former MotoGP star had led with a 1’37.179 but was pushed out of contention by the Kawasaki and Ducati men. Bridewell has now packed up and the team will move to Jerez.

Barbera’s team-mate Luke Mossey was also at the business end, finishing four-tenths off on a 1’37.221 while yesterday’s quickest man Josh Brookes ended in fifth.

Massingberd Kawasaki’s Danny Buchan was sixth while Tarran Mackenzie has made his first foray into the top ten with a 1’37.337 which was enough for seventh place.

Christian Iddon, on the second VisionTrack Ducati, ended in eighth place with Jack Kennedy and Jason O’Halloran completing the top ten.
