Monteblanco BSB test: 'Still fine tuning to be done' - Redding

Be Wiser Ducati’s Scott Redding topped the first official Bennetts British Superbike test of 2019 by two-tenths today at Monteblanco and says the progress being made is exactly right.

The former MotoGP rider just headed Jason O’Halloran on the combined timesheets and is now up to speed with the lack of electronics and Pirelli tyres on the V4 Panigale.

“We’ve done a lot of work, the bike still needs a lot of fine tuning but it was a good test for me to understand the tyres and how the bike is working,” said Redding, speaking from the track.

“We did a good job working in the hot weather when the tyres don’t work as well as they do when they’re cooler.

It’s kind of what I need to be doing. It’s not that I want to be super-fast, I’m doing the work, staying in the range I need to be in.

“I need to be a sponge in these two tests to understand as much as possible. We will go to Portimao now and try some more stuff. Overall I’m really happy.”
