South African Sheridan Morais will join Gino Rea and Broc Parkes onboard the no. 77 Wójcik Racing Team's Yamaha R1 for the 12-Hours of Estoril, season finale of the FIM Endurance World Championship.
Sixth in the Championship, the Polish team, racing with the support of PKN ORLEN, is aiming to challenge for a top three result in the overall standings at Estoril.
New signing, Morais joined Rea, Parkes and the Polish riders of Wójcik Racing Team's Superstock no. 777 crew for a three-day test in Portugal this week.
"My introduction to the team has been very smooth and it really feels like a family. I know my teammates very well and look forward to sharing the bike and having a good time with them," said Morais.
"Everyone's very friendly and the morale is very good. Estoril is an awesome track and I'm really looking forward to racing there next weekend. It's got everything.
"I rode there two years ago but with the new surface it was good to have a three-day test here. The bike was working really well, no issues whatsoever.
"Our laptimes were really good and the Dunlop tyres were lasting really long, 40-lap stints. We don't really have a reference point but if we can do these times in the race we can be fighting for the podium, if not the win."
