Idemitsu Honda's Taka Nakagami has taken his maiden MotoGP pole position at Aragon this afternoon and becomes the first Japanese premier-class polesitter since Makoto Tamada 16 years ago.
Nakagami set a 1'46.882 on his seventh lap to bag top spot and it was enough to fend off challenges from Franco Morbidelli and Alex Rins.
