MotoGP Assen: Familiar territory at last for Dixon

Britain's Jake Dixon will at least be able to race on familiar territory this weekend as the MotoGP circus rolls into Assen - a track the former British Superbike star knows well.

Dixon has had a tough transition to the Moto2 class this year and neither he or team-mate Xavi Cardelus are equipped with the best KTM has to offer.

But Dixon believes that as he doesn't have to spend Friday learning where the track goes, he can at least hit the ground running in free practice one.

“I know Assen well from my time in the British Superbike Championship and it suits my style. That means we can be pushing hard from the first session, although we do still have to make improvements in several areas," said Dixon.

"The weekend in Barcelona was going well until the crash right at the end. Up to that point we had done a good job and I want to build on it this weekend.”
