MotoGP Austin: Bike improvement the aim for Dixon

Britain's Jake Dixon is hoping to build on the 17th place he secured in the Argentine Moto2 race but says more work on bike setup us required at the Austin MotoGP round.

Dixon is slowly but surely getting used to the Nieto KTM and has the edge over team-mate Xavi Cardelus.

“The bike is still not where we want it, I was struggling today under braking and couldn’t get the bike stopped as I’d like, which cost me a lot of time," said Dixon.

Up until half distance I couldn’t work out the best way to ride around it, so it’s not ideal but we have finished the race and that’s a positive. Now we’ll continue to build on it in Austin.”

“Argentina was a difficult race for us but we took a step forward. I have spent some time at home since then, training hard and looking forward to the next race in Austin.

"It is a long circuit and it will be another tough weekend but I am excited to see what COTA is all about and seeing how we get on there.

"We need to keep improving the bike before we can make more steps in other areas such as my riding. Right now, the objective is to continue in the position we are in but I want more.”
