MotoGP World Championship leader Marc Marquez topped a wet third practice at Brno which saw nobody improve on their overall lap times, leaving the Friday top ten to go directly through to qualifying two
Heavy morning rain left the Czech circuit extremely wet and despite sun shining towards the end of the session, the track never dried, with nothing more than a partial dry line appearing late in the session.
With rain forecast later in the afternoon for qualifying, all riders went out to get a feel for the circuit when wet and it was little surprise to see Marquez go fastest, albeit nine seconds off his second fastest time from Friday.
Not feeling the need for a bucket full of laps, Marquez topped the session from Maverick Vinales and the Suzuki wild-card Sylvain Guintoli. Danilo Petrucci was fourth fastest on his factory Ducati ahead of Yamaha duo Valentino Rossi and Fabio Quartararo, leaving three Yamaha’s in the top six.
Joan Mir, who just missed out on the top ten on Friday, was seventh, with Pol Espargaro, Miguel Oliveira and Andrea Iannone rounding out the top ten. Cal Crutchlow was eleventh on his Honda RC213V ahead of Jack Miller, Andrea Dovizioso, Franco Morbidelli and Alex Rins who rounded out the top fifteen.
