MotoGP Day of Champions returns to Silverstone

World-famous Day of Champions is back in full force at Silverstone’s British MotoGP with auctions galore in aid of Two Wheels for Life

Set to be held on Thursday August 4 to kick off the Monster Energy British MotoGP in style once again, the legendary auction of MotoGP memorabilia will be hitting the main stage.

Headlining the auction is the signed chequered flag that brought an end to the final race of nine-time world champion Valentino Rossi’s illustrious career, at Valencia in 2021. Not only has Rossi signed the item but also legendary Brazilian footballer Ronaldo who waved the flag as the Italian crossed the finish line. The flag will come with a certificate of authenticity.

A trophy made from parts from one of Jake Dixon’s race engines. This will be a crank assembly with the three con rods and pistons mounted in engine orientation, on a billet aluminium plinth. This will come with a letter of authenticity from Triumph.

After a covid-enforced absence of two years, everything so loved by racing fans and the supporters of British-based charity Two Wheels for Life will be back.

A ride-in, paddock access, a scheduled pitlane walk, charity auctions, live music, interviews with the stars of MotoGP and updates from the charity about the work they have done to raise funds for Two Wheels and African partner Riders for Health will also be on the schedule.

There are no covid restrictions in place at Silverstone this year.

In 2022, a limited number of paddock and pit lane tickets are also available for purchase, giving lucky ticket holders exclusive access to the paddock and a look behind the scenes of MotoGP as riders and teams prepare for the weekend ahead.

Ticket prices for general admission start from just £25 if pre-booked, or £30 on the day.

Motorcyclists planning to arrive by bike can join in the on-track action by taking part in the Day of Champions ride-in for an extra fee, led by Niall Mackenzie, which includes two laps of the legendary Silverstone circuit and paddock access. Former 500GP racer and Two Wheels for Life co-founder Randy Mamola will lead the laps around Silverstone alongside Mackenzie.
