MotoGP Le Mans: ‘Good result’ from Dixon’s ‘strange day’

Inde GasGas Aspar’s Jake Dixon suffered a ‘strange day’ as he prepared for the French GP completing Friday eighth in the Moto2 times.

A late morning crash at turn seven disrupted Dixon’s rhythm in the opening free practice at Le Mans, with the Brit unable to replicate his initial feelings on the Kalex as the second 40-minute session fired up.

Despite disappointment seeing his fastest effort - a 1’37.070 - deleted, a more than happy Dixon eventually called time on Friday seventh in FP2 and eighth overall thanks to a 1’36.610 lap but with an eye firmly on further improvements for Saturday.

“It was a strange day in general, but not having had a great day, we got a good result,’ Dixon admitted on Friday evening.

“In the morning I was fast, but I crashed on the second start. In the afternoon, I didn’t have the best feelings, but in the second run on the track I found better sensations.

“They cancelled a lap that would have placed us fifth but in any case, we have to continue improving both myself, and also a bit the bike.”
