Britain's Jake Dixon suffered a big crash in the wet opening Moto2 session at Phillip Island which curtailed his progress in the dry afternoon practice.
Dixon, who hasn't ridden at Phillip Island before, went down at the fast Hayshed - only a few minutes after team-mate Xavi Cardelus crashed at Honda - and tumbled through the gravel.
“We have had a tough day, one of the most difficult days of this year. I had a big crash in the first free practice and hurt my arm, right hand, my thumb," said Dixon.
"In the second session we finished with a slightly better feeling, but we still have room for improvement.”
Dixon finished the day in 28th place, 2.7s off the pace.
