MotoGP Portimao: Handbags penalty to make life 'difficult' for McPhee

Scotland's John McPhee will start this weekend's Portimao Moto3 race from pitlane as a penalty for his 'fight' with Jeremy Alcoba last time out.

It was the second time the Petronas rider had been taken out in as many races, and he and Alcoba aimed kicks and punches at each other like a brace of first years.

"I’m really looking forward to going back to the Portimão circuit. After riding it for the first time last year at the Grand Prix, I think it’s fair to say that it is one of the most exciting tracks on the calendar," said McPhee.

"We had a really successful pre-season test there and I managed to find my feet a bit more with the technical parts of the track. The penalty from the DohaGP it will make it really difficult to catch the group, but nothing is impossible, we’ll give our best.

"I’m excited to see what’s possible on the race weekend, so let’s look forward to starting our European tour."
