MotoGP Sepang: Dixon ‘struggling’ on day one| Christina Bulpett | MotoGP
A delay due to rain interrupted the Moto2 free practice at Sepang as Jake Dixon struggled to get his Aspar GasGas fully up to speed.
Seventh in the morning’s dry action, with a best time of 2’08.290, was enough to keep the Brit in Q2 contention at the close of play after rain struck just minutes into FP2.
Dixon completed Friday ninth overall and 1.4s behind Augusto Fernandez’ benchmark effort, after showing dominant pace in the wet conditions prior to a turn nine crash which cut his afternoon short earlier than intended.
“The first day in Malaysia was alright,” Dixon shrugged. “I struggled in the dry and then I struggled a bit in the wet as well.
“We have to see what we can improve, both from my side and from the bike.”
