MotoGP Silverstone: McPhee 'in a good place' ahead of home clash

Scotland's John McPhee is fired up for another Moto3 podium in front of a home crowd at this weekend's Silverstone MotoGP round, saying everything in the Petronas Sprinta team is working well together.

McPhee took a last-gasp podium at the Red Bull Ring, setting the fastest race on lap on his last to edge Celestino Vietti into fourth by hundredths of a second across the line, and wants to carry that form into Northamptonshire.

“We’re in a really good place at the moment, with the team, the bike and myself all working really well together," said McPhee.

"We’ve repeatedly shown how strong we can be, and it’s a fantastic feeling to arrive at my home race with that confidence. Silverstone is a track that I’ve had strong results at in the past and I’m more motivated than ever.

"The atmosphere will be amazing, and having everyone in the crowd cheering you on gives you a little bit more than your rivals. It fires me up and it’s a nice feeling.”
