Fabio Quartararo is back in charge at the top of the Silverstone MotoGP timesheets after his lap-record crushing time as reinstated by race direction after previously being cancelled for exceeding track limits.
Quartararo put in a 1’59.225 to go seven-tenths under Marc Marquez pole record from 2017 but had been adjudged to have gone off track. After race direction had viewed several replays, the lap was put back at the top of the timesheet, knocking Marquez back to second.
Laps from Valentino Rossi and Taka Nakagami were also found to be within the rules, so The Doctor moves up to fourth place and Aleix Espargaro is shuffled out of the top ten.
