Last night, F1 organised a race with some of its drivers, some celebrities and some simracing gamers at the Bahrain circuit and although it wasn't exactly rivetting stuff, it did mean the sports fans did get something to watch.
In fact, there were two Bahrain GPs yesterday, the official one and one organised by the Veloce esports team which managed to attract McLaren driver Lando Norris, among others, to its event as well as some of the best F1 gamers in the business.
MotoGP has its own esport and awards a championship, and its ranks are populated with riders born in the PlayStation generation. April 5 should have been the Austin round, so a virtual COTA GP could be on the cards.
