MotoGP Valencia: Migno secures first Moto3 pole

Mugen Race KTM rider Andrea Migno flew to his first pole position, denying Marcos Ramirez a third successive Moto3 pole position by 0.274 seconds at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit in Valencia.

The Italian, who will be starting his 100th Grand Prix tomorrow, was on course for a middle of the pack start when a stunning late lap of 1:38.683 saw him fire himself to the top of the timing sheets. Migno’s time saw him knock Marcos Ramirez off provisional pole, with the Spaniard looking for a third consecutive pole position, with the Spaniard having to settle for second this time out.

Migno’s Mugen Race KTM team-mate Jaume Masia will start from the outside of the front row in third position after qualifying 0.150 seconds back from the Leopard man.

Romano Fenati is tenth, with rookie Carlos Tatay and Tony Arbolino joining the Italian, with Arbolino having to shake off a fast crash. John McPhee will start from thirteenth with Nico Antonelii in fourteenth and Alonso Lopez rounding out the top five rows in fifteenth position.
