Sterilgarda Husqvarna Max’s John McPhee claimed tenth in Valencia’s qualifying ahead of his final race in Moto3.

Securing direct entry to the Q2 fight from ninth in FP3, McPhee continued to improve with his 1’38.949 pace as he prepared to head the fourth row for the final grid of the 2022 season.

“Overall the lap times are so close here in Valencia,” McPhee said on Saturday’s action. "So although we are in P10, the pace and the rhythm is quite strong.

“I have been strong on the whole all the weekend and competitive in every session, so this is positive. I’ve done my personal fastest ever lap in Valencia, and that's also a good point.

"I am looking forward to enjoy my final race in Moto3 tomorrow, and overall it has been a nice weekend.”
