Nesbitt joins Archer at RS Racing for GP2 title tilt

Charlie Nesbitt will join Jake Archer at team RS Racing/Kovara Projects for the 2021 Quattro Group British GP2 Championship as the Barnsley based team bid to clinch their third title in the series.

The nineteen-year-old former British Motostar champion from Swindon made his debut in the GP2 class last year, finishing fourth, taking three class wins and seven podiums. The team owned and run by Ryan Saxelby will be sponsored by Kovara Projects, the UK’s leading specialist roofing and cladding contractors.

“I am really happy to have signed for the RS Racing/Kovara Projects team for the 2021 GP2 Championship on the Kalex machine," said Nesbitt.

"The team has a proven track record with a focus on winning and I cannot thank the team enough for this opportunity. I would also like to thank my personal sponsors Home Instead, TW Haulage and Elm Rep.

"I am now fully focused on my 2021 race season preparations and I am looking forward to getting out on the bike for the first test at Donington Park in April.”

Archer added: “I am incredibly grateful to be back with RS Racing in 2021 for my third consecutive year with the team. After a few tough seasons we found a little bit of confidence towards the end of 2020 and I am looking to build on that confidence this year. I am excited to take that into this new season and will be focused on battling for podiums and to getting back to where we were in 2018. I would just like to say a huge thank you to Ryan at RS Racing and Peter and Sheryl of Kovara Projects for giving me another opportunity for this season.
