Tommy Bridewell says he and the Oxford Racing Ducati crew will go back to the drawing board tonight to try and force a little more out of the Panigale V4.
Bridewell qualified in second position just behind the Be Wiser machine of Josh Brookes and later admitted that while he was happy with his pace, he was surprised to secure the front row.
“I am slightly frustrated because I feel like we’re not quite on the A-game yet with the bike so we’ve got a little bit of head scratching to do before tomorrow,” he revealed.
“I do feel positive but I would just like it to come a little bit easier to be honest.
The team has done a mega job to be on the front row because I didn’t expect it to be fair, so tonight we’re just going to go back to the drawing board and try and get it that little bit stronger for tomorrow.”
Although he admits to being somewhat frustrated that he’s still not getting everything he thinks he should be from his new machine, the Devizes rider was still happy to get a front row, and predicts two exciting scraps tomorrow.
“I know we’re fast, I know we’re really strong and the new V4R Ducati is phenomenal. I just know there’s a lot more potential and we just need to try and unlock a bit more for tomorrow.
“I think it’s going to be two hard and interesting races but certainly being on the front row makes life a lot easier. We’ve worked hard on tyre life so hopefully it pays off.”
