Oulton BSB: Bosses issue new position change regulations

Bennetts British Superbike bosses have issued a new regulation regarding position penalties during races.

After there was some confusion over Leon Haslam’s one-place position change at Silverstone, riders now have three laps to change their position as instructed by boards being held around the track. Information will also be supplied to teams on the timing screens for their pitboards.

A statement reads:

Race Direction may impose a “change of position” penalty instruction during a race. This will be displayed on boards at the finish line and at up to three additional points around the circuit simultaneously. The notification of the penalty will also be shown on the timing screen.

The rider must action the change of position instruction within three laps of passing the first board displaying the instruction for the first time. Failure to adhere will result in a ride though and/or time penalty being imposed.
