Oulton BSB: Buchan 'open-minded' after successful test

FS-3 Kawasaki’s Danny Buchan goes into this weekend’s Bennetts British Superbike Oulton Park round with an open mind when it comes to expectations but tested well at the Cheshire track, finishing second to Josh Brookes on the timesheets.

Buchan stood on the Silverstone podium in race two and is brimming with confidence at a track which he calls ‘proper’ but won’t make any rash predictions.

“The Oulton Park test was good for us. After coming from Silverstone it was a massive change of track so there is obviously work to do to get the bike in the right working window which we did,” said Buchan.

I just needed a little bit more from the bike to be totally comfortable so we left the test with some direction for the race weekend.

“Although the team made a significant change for the afternoon sessions it was wet and we never got to go out and give it a go but still it’s nice to come here and be up the top end of the time sheets right away with not being 100 per cent comfortable on the bike. We are now all excited in the team to get back to Oulton Park next weekend and to keep working hard.

“After a strong start at round one I’m excited to get to a proper BSB race track, a track I love. We have a strong package and I’m just looking forward to more racing. Expectations wise I’m just going to be open-minded and see what we have got come race day - that’s all we can do.”
