Oulton BSB: Ryde wraps up 2019 GP2 Championship

Kyle Ryde has taken the 2019 British GP2 Cup Championship after fourth place in today's Dickes British Supersport Sprint race at Oulton Park.

Ryde has been in a class of his own for most of the season - with only Mason Law able to get close to the former WorldSSP rider after coming into the series late on - and has three rounds in hand.

It is Ryde's third title as he adds it to the 125GP and Superstock 600 titles he has won in the past.

"This one is the sweetest. It's nice to get three. It's been a bit of a struggle since 2014 but now we're back, I'm riding as best as I can and we've won another championship," said Ryde, speaking at Oulton.

"This weekend we have been on the pace but a little bit off Jack and the other boys. We made a step, the sun came out and I wanted to do it with a win."
