Peggy Appleyard has died

It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected and sad passing of Peggy Appleyard, a much loved British Superbike paddock character and integral part of the Appleyard Macadam team.

Peggy’s enthusiasm for racing remained undiminished over 40 years, was a great supporter of many young riders and indeed referred to the paddock as her second family. She was excited to watch Valentino Rossi’s final race with her family on television only last weekend.

Peggy was proud of the race team and successful business that she and her late husband Colin had started over 50 years ago.

She died at home, aged 82, having only hours before enjoyed lovely moments with her children Judith and Robin, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
