Fresh from his historic Dakar adventure, Danilo Petrucci will be back on two wheels as he joins the Ducati WorldSBK test next month.
With all signs pointing to a move to MotoAmerica for the 2022 season, in place of the outgoing Loris Baz at the New York based Warhorse HSBK Ducati Team, Petrucci will first head to Portimao, in Portugal, as part of the Ducati-organised winter test on February 8-9th.
The Autodromo do Algarve will play host to a horde of Ducati competitors as multiple Superbike, Supersport and Endurance riders will be in action across the two days. The likeable Italian is set to share the track with fellow former MotoGP star Alvaro Bautista on his return to the Bologna factory alongside Aruba.it teammate Michael Ruben Rinaldi while Oli Bayliss follows in the steps of his thrice world champion father Troy, to begin his own world championship career with Barni Racing in WorldSSP.
Kawasaki Racing’s Jonathan Rea and Alex Lowes will also be in action on the Algarve for the two-day test as their 2022 preparations continue, with the pair heading first to Jerez next week.
