Takumi Takahashi had to sit out the second Phillip Island WorldSBK test session today after his MIE Honda exploded in spectacular fashion.

The Japanese rider had to hop off the Fireblade as it leaked oil and then caught fire, eventually being put out by marshals in a gravel trap at the corner formerly known as Honda Hairpin…

It was the third red flag of the session as there was plenty of oil on the track to be cleared up and it brought the first session to a close.
