Reigning Bennetts British Superbike Champion Scott Redding has taken a landslide win the 2019 BSN BSB Rider of the Year public vote.

The former MotoGP star rocked up, conquered and immediately cleared off to WorldSBK but endeared himself to the fans in the process. It meant he took 51.23 per cent of the votes to bag his second most coveted award of the year…

Second place went to Oxford Racing Ducati’s Tommy Bridewell. The Wiltshire rider, who took third in the title chase with a privateer team, nabbed 31.75 per cent of the vote.

Third place went to championship runner-up and Redding team-mate Josh Brookes. The Australian, who only finished five points behind Redding, took 5.19 per cent of the overall total.

Fourth place went to Smiths BMW man Peter Hickman - who has already won the Road Rider of the Year category - with 4.39 per cent while fifth went to Danny Buchan with 2.28 per cent.
