BSB star training at BMW Motorrad UK Performance Academy

BMW Motorrad UK has announced a new Performance Academy with instruction from British Superbike Championship riders.

Four different courses have been devised to help motorcycle riders develop or hone their on-track skills, catering for all abilities – from Level One for those new to a circuit, through to M Experience for those wanting to learn the fundamentals of motorcycle racing.

Participants will be trained by a team of current or former BMW British Superbike Championship stars while Academy numbers will be kept to a minimum ensuring every student receives in-depth guidance from each session.

“We wanted to keep the school quite intimate and the groups relatively small to deliver a premium yet relaxed and supportive experience,” BMW Motorrad UK National Marketing and PR Manager Scott Grimsdall explained. “Every rider will benefit from quality time with the instructors.”

From Level Two onwards, each student will receive real-time feedback via the latest Bluetooth helmet communication system, supported by video footage from the following instructor bike.

Each course provides access to a wide range of track-ready BMW Motorrad performance bikes, progressing from the F 900 R, S 1000 R, and S 1000 RR, up to the ultimate M 1000 R for those tackling the most advanced levels of training.

All BMW Motorrad Performance Academy courses will be delivered at the picturesque Anglesey race circuit in North Wales, using the venue’s thrilling 1.55-mile coastal layout. A flowing yet technical track that is suitable for all levels, Anglesey features an exciting variety of sweeping corners, hairpins, and changes of elevation that maximise the learning experience.

The new BMW Motorrad Performance Academy is being launched at this year’s Motorcycle Live event at the NEC, Birmingham (www.motorcyclelive.co.uk; 4 to 12 December 2021). For more details, visit the BMW Motorrad stand at Motorcycle Live or follow the link: bmwmotorradperformanceacademy.com
