Schoots set for historic Macau Grand Prix debut

Dutch female road racer Nadieh Schoots is set to make her Macau Grand Prix debut this November.

The 31-year-old who has competed as part of the BSB paddock in both the Ducati Cup and Superstock classes - the latter with Team ILR - and claimed the fastest female record at the NW200 in 2017, will be writing history in the process as the first woman to ever compete on a motorcycle at the infamous road race.

Four years after she was initially invited by the Macau GP organisation but had to bow out due to injury, the stars have finally aligned, and Schoots couldn’t be happier with the last minute opportunity.

“I’ve dreamed of racing the Macau GP ever since meeting Dutch road racer Branko Srdanov in 2012, when we both competed in IDM,” Scoots confirmed. “Actually, at the time I did not believe it was something I could or would ever do, I simply thought it was the coolest race I’d ever seen.
Yet a decade and a lot of blood, sweat and tears later, here we are.

“Not only do I make my own debut, I’ll be the first woman to ever race a motorcycle at Macau. I’m incredibly excited, and hope to inspire more women to follow in my footsteps!”

Due to the late notice of Schoots’ addition to the event scheduled for 17-20th November 2022, both crowdfunding and sponsorship opportunities are available. For more information please visit www.nadiehschoots.com or supprt the team via its gofundme campaign
