Sepang MotoGP test: Rins elects new chassis for Qatar

Ecstar Suzuki’s Alex Rins has opted to go with a new chassis for the 2020 MotoGP season after a back-to-back comparison on the final day of testing at Sepang.

The Spaniard did an eight-lap run on the new chassis and every lap was under the 2’00s barrier.

“Sincerely we’ve been very fast but also very consistent on this comparison with the chassis. All the laps in ‘59. I’m quite happy because we improve my personal lap time here and also the race pace,” said Rins.

I felt a little bit more comfortable with the new chassis. They are very similar but looks like with the new one I have a bit more stability in braking. It helps me to stop the bike, to reduce a little bit the effort. But we need to compare again in Qatar.

“We are where I want to be. I think with all the work Suzuki has done we can be more close… we have good corner speed and good drive.”

Rins also believes that Suzuki are working on a holeshot device for the new season and thinks that all the manufatcurers will probably have one by the first round.
