VisionTrack Ducati’s Josh Brookes believes he has a clearer idea of the setup direction needed with the new Pirelli tyre at this weekend’s Silverstone Bennetts British Superbike round.
Despite bagging his 50th win at Snetterton last time out, Brookes still has work to do with the new-for-2020 hoops but is closer to where he needs to be.
“After Snetterton, I believe we now understand the situation with the new profile tyres much better. It’s something which has been affecting most teams and riders this season, but I now firmly believe both me and the team have a clearer direction on how we need to progress,” said Brookes.
“With retiring from both races at Silverstone last year, I’m not really sure of my potential there so I’ve got to focus on this event and deal with anything that arises.
“My understanding of the bike is good, and the plan is to keep making improvements throughout the weekend. We have had a good start to the season so I think we will be strong again.”
