Bradley Perie completed a stunning weekend for Appleyard Macadam Yamaha at Silverstone with double Quattro British Supersport podiums for him and teammate Rhys Irwin.

A clearly confident Irwin pulled out a stellar 55.698 second lap, to go under the lap record on his way to his first ever pole position on Saturday. Perie’s fastest effort of the weekend cut short by the red flag, leaving him on row two, in fourth.
 
There was some expectation in the Appleyard garage ahead of Saturday’s 18-lap Sprint Race with both riders looking so strong. The pole-sitter, however, initially suffered a poor start, dropping down the order before he regrouped to reach and battle with the leaders. Perie fighting for the lead against Lee Johnston throughout the race, with GP2 rider Charlie Nesbitt also getting involved.

The number 97 ultimately took second at the flag, Irwin third for a hard-won maiden podium. Jack Kennedy’s crash knocking him off the top of the Championship table and giving Ben Currie the lead.
 
Sunday’s longer 25-lap Feature was always going to be tough on tyres at this predominantly right-handed circuit, although the pace was no less frenetic in another dramatic encounter. After a lacklustre launch off the line, the Yamaha duo found themselves in lower positions, before pushing through at the halfway mark. The rookie enjoying a great battle with series leaders Kennedy and Currie before taking both their scalps for another third placed podium while Perie timed his run to perfection to take the win from Johnston.
 
The impressive weekend also dramatically reduced the Kendal rider’s deficit in the title fight from 33 to just five points.

“What a difference a week makes!” Perie said after Sunday’s victory. "We were on the floor after Cadwell and Snetterton but I’m over the moon with how this weekend went. We put in loads of work, so it was a real team effort to be on the pace and battle through for the win.”  
 
“I’ve had such a great weekend, absolutely unbelievable!” Irwin added. “The team have given me an incredible bike and to get these results in my rookie season is fantastic. I feel like we can run with the front lads for the rest of the season now.”
